IDR is seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Category Manager to join one of our top clients in Glenn Mills, PA. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker with a strong background in IT procurement and contract negotiation.
Position Overview/Responsibilities for the IT Category Manager:
- Develop and implement IT category strategies to optimize company spend and drive business efficiencies
- Build strong relationships with internal IT business partners to understand global spend and identify opportunities to increase quality and improve value for money
- Plan and execute effective negotiation strategies and competitive processes with vendors
- Lead contract negotiations with major vendors for hardware, software, Cloud Services, Telecommunications and technology professional services
- Collaborate with IT stakeholders on strategic planning efforts in support of both IT and company-wide objectives
Required Skills for IT Category Manager:
- Bachelor's degree in business management, supply chain management, or equivalent field, MBA preferred
- 7+ years of IT procurement experience with a focus on software contracts (on-prem, SaaS)
- 7+ years of contract negotiation and red-lining experience (e.g. master agreements, statements of work, orders)
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable and confident in dealing with senior staff and articulating strategy
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
